I will stamp all over 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize next month's boxing match.
Ex two time world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly proceeding.
